The UK Blessing

By | News

We wanted to share The UK Blessing with you that was released on Sunday!

“At this unique and challenging time in the United Kingdom over 65 churches and movements, representing hundreds of others, have come together online to sing a blessing over our land. Standing together as one, our desire is that this song will fill you with hope and encourage you. But the church is not simply singing a blessing, each day we’re looking to practically be a blessing. Many of the churches included in this song have assisted with supplying over 400,000 meals to the most vulnerable and isolated in our nation since COVID-19 lockdown began. This alongside phone calls to the isolated, pharmacy delivery drops and hot meals to the NHS frontline hospital staff.”

Our buildings may be closed but the church is very much alive!

We had an AMAZING day in the Brighthelm Gardens last Saturday 3rd August when Brighton Pride was on in the city.  We had a drum circle, dancing, face painting and glitter art, spiritual readings and dream interpretations.  There was a hive of activity all around the gardens, with many people visiting the city, some for the first time!

There was such an atmosphere of peace in the gardens, and a lot of JOY, love and colour released 🙂

It was great to have lots of help for this event – and a BIG thank you to all the Essence course attendees (from Movement in Worship) who put their training into practice, sharing God’s love with the public.

Take a look at some of the days photos… our NEXT OASIS is on Saturday 7th September, 11am – 4pm – See you there

Core Values at City Gate Church

By | News

Last Sunday we started our year by recapping City Gate Church’s Core Values, a focus for our teaching during 2019.

Take a look at some of the canvases that we started illustrating. It was great discussing the importance of what we value!

– Lives devoted to God
– Fellowship and community living
– Growing Church
– Unity
– Giving
– Our local community for God
– Embracing the least and the lost

We also spent time thanking God for the New year and taking Communion together!

Next Sunday 20th January, we have visiting speaker Kath Jones from Southwater Community Methodist Church joining us, to talk about ‘Giving’ and sharing her insights to one of our Core Values!
