Creative Sunday – Breakfast & Communion on the Beach!

19th September 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

On the third Sunday of the month, we have ‘Creative Sundays’.  The aim is to create space to encounter God, without the usual structures of Sunday meetings – church without walls/ screen!

We will have a common theme and some prompts on how to engage. You are invited to participate in the activity on your own, outdoors with one other person, in your household/ bubble/ join with others by WhatsApp video. It would be lovely if the children and young people were helped to engage as well.

We hope that in making space to lean into God differently, our imaginations may be sparked to think creatively and come up with inspiration around how church might look different as we emerge from the pandemic.

We urge you to make the most of this time to seek God, using the ideas provided, and also you own ideas!

This Sunday 19th September  we are meeting on the beach by Brighton Marina at 10am for Holy Communion (details below).

Sunday 19th– 10am

Breakfast and Communion on the beach.

Black Rock beach site (dog-friendly!) to the right of the Marina, facing the sea (free parking in the Marina). If you get to the naturist beach you’ve gone too far!

We encourage you to car share this Sunday or take the bus (no 7 or 23) to Marina Village.

Allow time to walk from the car park to the beach.

Bring chairs or blanket to sit on.

This September is the Season of Creation, or Creationtide in the annual church calendar running from the first of September to the fourth of October, a time dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life. It’s a time where churches and congregations are called to pay special attention to the responsibility of humanity for the Earth and for all that lives upon it, and to pray for our world.

It is also a time to engage with the Great Big Green Week running from 18 – 26 of September https://greatbiggreenweek.com

We invite you to bring breakfast to share, and to see whether you can be intentional in considering at least one of the LOAF principles in your meal:

Locally produced,
Organically grown,
Animal friendly,
Fairly traded.

Bread and wine for communion will be provided. Being by the sea, we will pause to worship with

Psalm 96: Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.”
