Drop-In

An event every month that begins at 1:30pm on day First of the month, repeating until 4th December 2016
Come and join us at Brighthelm Community Centre on the first Sunday of every month for nutritious food in a warm and welcoming environment. Drop In is a very low cost café, which is overseen by City Gate Church and held at Brighthelm Community Centre on the first Sunday of every month, between 1.30-3.30pm. Drop-In has taken place at Brighthelm since the late 1980’s and was initiated by URC church members who were the original organisers.
Between 1.30-3.30pm volunteers serve subsidised food and drinks to people who would otherwise have few places to go. Hot meals are prepared in advance whilst sandwiches and drinks are made on Sundays as required, ranging from 15p – 50p. There are usually 30 -40 customers each week. It’s a great opportunity to come and eat, relax and make new friends. Everyone welcome!
